Salem Witch Trials

I have been raised so that the right thing to do is to tell the truth, just like many of you, but through doing this simple set of questions along with pre-done responses I saw that telling the truth really has nothing to do with how things turn out. I answered the first set as if I was not guilty of being a witch and by saying this I was hung with in a month of “confessing,” but then I took it again and heard that if I said that I was a witch then I would be ok. So I did and come to find out it really did work even if I knew that I wasn’t. But one of the things that really seems to be strange to me is that no one really fought back and I don’t mean with words but physically hit someone in the face to stop them. I know that they had a guard that was from Boston but still if you knew that you were going to hang and you also knew that you went going to change how you thought why not take a sword or musket and fight to the death. I guess that is just one of those things that I would really have to happen to me to know what I would truly do. I hopefully think that I would stand by my morals and die for them instead of becoming someone who kills others. I think that people would have just stood up against those couple of girls to begin with then things would have been a lot less deadly. Most of the real conflict was from people with inside the town were really suffering from them hating each other and after the first “witch” was found then they realized they had an out to get they wanted from these people. But after some thought and really looking at the problem instead of becoming an organized mob and John Procter was hung even after he said the Lords Pray, they found nothing but the hate of a couple of people against another then things were stopped.
