Cancer With A Smile

In some of the lit circle today I added my own thoughts and feelings off the fact that my old sister had cancer around a year and a half ago. This book may seem some what boring to someone who has never had to hear the words that a loved one is being killed by a thing called cancer. So odd I find it that Johnny took cancer with a smile like my sister did she never failed to make a joke, such as, "how are you feeling today?" she would look and say in the most careless voice "well how does it look like I feel?" not knowing if you were going to laugh or cry. These moments are just things that come to mind when I read this book.

That was a great connection. I agree that no one can relate to this book if they have never been faced with curse of cancer or had a loved one with it. I have only experience a shadow of the connection you have with this book. I have never known a person as close as a sibling with cancer, but some of my close friends have perished from the disease.

I would imagine this book is a tough read for you, Colton. I've never really had someone close to me fight for their life. But, your personal experiences give you--and the rest of your group--greater insight into the book. Thanks for sharing.

but some struggle or "winter" is way to much for way to many people, and which some struggle is good, some causes death and anarchy
